I have read that throughout history, the Maliki and Hanafi used Muslim but avoided Al-Bukhari whereas the Shafi'i and the Hanbali used Al-Bukhari but avoided Muslim.
In 2026, you have to accept every word of both Al-Bukhari and Muslim or else risk being considered a kāfir.
Also, originally, when a hadith was ruled authentic, it was the isnād that was considered authentic but it has evolved over time to mean the content is the undeniable truth.
Now, even if a hadith had 99.9% chance of being correct, there's 0.1% chance that it is entirely wrong.
If, for instance, hadiths that say you have to kill the apostates happen to be fabrications, those who kill the apostates commit murder which Allah forbade them to do and they are unlikely to ever repent from it thinking they are rightly guided.
0.1% multiplied by eternity in hell equals infinity.
Why do people make claims about things that they ignore? It is much safer to be quiet but many are arrogant and risk lying about Allah.
